Quarter panels, rear corner panels, upper corner panels, rock panels and body-side pressings — the outer rear sheet metal that catches everything the rear wheels throw and shows every flaw in a restoration. Coverage across Land Cruiser FJ40/FJ45, early Ford Bronco, Land Rover Defender side frames and Datsun 240Z.

The panel everyone sees

Rear quarters and corners define a truck's stance in photographs: swage lines, arch profile and the gap to the tailgate. They're also the most common rust repair on every platform we cover, because the factory placed them directly behind an unlined wheel arch. Patching heavily pitted quarters costs more in labour than cutting them out and welding a full pressing in at factory seams.

Installation reality

These are cut-and-weld repairs: map the factory seams, cut back to sound metal, hang the new panel with the tailgate and door present so gaps are real, plug-weld at original spacing, work heat in short sequences. Inner structure (wheel housings, braces) should be repaired in the same operation.

Full quarter or corner patch?

If rust is confined below the swage line or within 150 mm of a corner, a patch panel saves money. Beyond that, the full pressing gives a cleaner, faster result.
